Phu Quoc Yacht Charter
Phu Quoc is an island off Vietnam's southwest coast with special economic zone status and the only visa-free entry in the country open to every nationality. The season for going out runs November through April.

Phu Quoc is the other half of the Vietnamese year. While Nha Trang sits under the northeast monsoon, conditions here are dry and settled, and the reverse holds in summer. For a winter trip this is the country's main destination.
When to go out
| Month | Conditions | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| January | peak | Dry, calm sea. The busiest month |
| February | peak | Same conditions, slightly fewer visitors |
| March | peak | Hotter, water warm |
| April | season | End of the dry season, humidity climbing |
| May | edge | First rains, sea still settled |
| June | closed | Southwest monsoon, swell |
| July | closed | Rain and wind |
| August | closed | Height of the wet season |
| September | closed | Rain continues |
| October | edge | Conditions settle toward month end |
| November | peak | Dry season begins |
| December | peak | Dry and calm |
The wet season on Phu Quoc runs from late May through October, longer than in Nha Trang. Trips in those months are possible but need spare dates. Checked 12 September 2026.
The An Thoi archipelago
The main route runs to a group of roughly 28 islands off the southern tip of Phu Quoc. The water there is clearer than along the main beach, and the farthest points are about an hour out.
A cable car crosses the archipelago to Hon Thom island, the landmark on the route and the most recognisable view of these waters.
An Thoi port is being expanded to 100 hectares ahead of the APEC 2027 summit, to take the largest cruise ships and yachts. Twenty-one projects are going into the island's infrastructure for APEC. The airport gains a second runway and a terminal rated for up to 20 million passengers a year.
Entry
Phu Quoc is the only place in Vietnam where visa-free entry for 30 days applies to citizens of every country, a consequence of its special economic zone status.
One condition matters: it applies to a direct flight to the island. Arriving via Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City puts you under the country's ordinary visa rules. Check current terms before travelling; they have changed before.
